How many times did you go on family drives when you were growing up? In the 1960's our family would pile into the station wagon, and we'd go all over Washington State. Generally, our destinations included somewhere with snow or water, so the kids could get out of the car, run around and let off some energy. If we behaved ourselves, we got to stop for ice cream as a special treat! Woo-hoo, that ice cream was a big, big deal!
Washington State has added Whidbey Island to their official Scenic Byways, and we're the first island Scenic Byway. Our Byway is officially called The Whidbey Island Scenic Isle Way. No matter what you call it, it's worth the drive, and well worth the memories you'll build ... just be sure to get out of the car and discover Whidbey.
